Is it normal i'm upset because i read my boyfriend's texts with his ex?

I know I shouldn't have done it and I didn't even know his ex's name but they weren't that far down from mine because he just broke up with her a few months before me. They weren't serious or so he said until I saw "I love you angel" on them. He said he NEVER told anyone he loved them until me. Then I read the text, only the one and it read something like "I never loved anyone before you, you are my angel, you are my nightsky. I love you angel"

He always ends our convos with "I love you angel" and tells me the same thing he did as her but he said she was immature and they had only one thing in common and no morals in common. He says we're "perfect". So I don't know if that's just a normal term of endearment or what. I mean to be fair, my ex called me angel too..I guess I'm overreacting but it's hard to see that. I didn't even want to read it and don't know why I did. Stupid me. :( Should I leave him because he used the same words with his ex? Or I mean, what else is there left to call someone I guess...right?

    Oh, wrong move. When he told you that he never told anyone he loved them until you he probably said it because he wanted you to feel special (Heck, he probably said it to his mother too). Not that it's a bad thing, I'd say it's best that he did. He was keeping his past away from you, for the better (imagine what it'd be like if he kept on going on about his ex).

    Sometimes what you don't know doesn't hurt you. Living in the past robs you of today.

    You should leave because you both have broken the trust you had. And he shouldnt have those texts saved.

    What has that got to do with what you did? You've completely missed the bigger picture here. It isn't WHAT you read on HIS phone, dearie, it's that you read HIS phone at all. But if you can't see that, well hell, let's just call me stupid and illiterate and leave it at that.

    I don't understand what people say "violate his trust". They are in a commuted relationship he should not have anything to hide in the first place. That guy is playing plain and simple. Hook, line, and sinker.

    Break it. If you go on any longer, you might be even more heartbroken. He's a jerk, and is playing his ex-girlfriend, and unfortunately, yourself. :(

    Basically he sent those texts to her while you were dating him? If he did, and you know it was his ex I say get rid of him. He sounds like he doesn't know what he wants in the first place.

    I would leave him because you have broken the trust between you two, and no relationship can survive without trust.
    I do not understand how you could violate his trust by reading these things. It would be different if he gave then to you to read, but I don't believe he did?
    A lesson for your future relationships, I guess. You are a very foolish girl.
