Is it normal i'm like a hopeless romantic but with friendship instead

Friendship is amazing. I dont think couples are cute at all, but I think a lot of friendships are cute. And when someone tells me they like me as a friend I feel my heart fluttering.

  • I am like that too and some of my friends misunderstand me. But I'm romantic in love/sexual relationships too. There's a saying: "Friendship is the love that never dies.".
True friends won't dump you. Sadly, I have not real friends currently.

I get that, i guess i'm more intimate with my best friend than with any girl i've been with ( well two lol )

and i guess our friendship is a bit relationshipy we've both been busy and just met up for the first time in like a week and a half and we were both like i've fucking missed you dude

and we have this running joke of us saying fuck it to everything and moving to mexico together, then there's little things like today he turned to me as i was cooking and said " i even love the way you cut onions"

with good friends u always feel comfortable, you know each other like no one else does, just lay on the sofa together even just watching shit tv and it's great, friendship can transcend that, we've told each other on several occasions that we love each other, we're like brothers

there's an innocent intimacy in friendships you don't get anywhere else, totally normal

    • That is so sweet.

what do you mean by "we're like brothers" tho? are you saying family love and friendship love feel the same/similar?

No not quite, it's a different kind of love but brotherly love is the closest thing i can describe it to, i love him as a person, i love his humor, the way his mind works and the time we spend together and have spent since all the way back in high school, but it's non sexual or relationship driven so a brotherly love is the closest thing i can think.of

        but

we miss each other regularly, i've never known someone who just clicks with me as if we're two parts of a whole and we just get each other and we always joke about us being two grumpy old fuckers in a care home because we always see each other being in our life for good, hell even when we were both in a relationship my girlfriend and his boyfriend used to say how cute our " bromance " is so it that way it's not brotherly at all

As much as i hate the word i guess bromance is actually kind of fitting

I have a pretty intimate even romantic view of friendship (in a purely platonic sense)

I feel like it throws off a lot of people at times... When you're a person that cares for deep intimacy it can't be helped..

I understand you. It's always nice when your friends say good stuff about you.
