Is it normal i hope my awful acquaintance is infertile

I'm not friends with this girl but she's been part of a very extended social circle for a few years and she is awful. She's 24 and living with her mum who pays for all her bills and food, whilst her dad (who she doesn't talk to) wires her thousands every month to pay for her lifestyle of designer clothes and foreign holidays. She has few qualifications and little work experience due to her princess attitude and complete lack of work ethic and refuses to get a job because the entry level jobs she's eligible for are all "beneath her". She does drugs, boasts (falsely) about being "from the ghetto" and throws a temper tantrum whenever she doesn't get her way.

I found her whole life pretty amusing, until recently when I heard she wants to have a baby before she's 26 with her drug dealer boyfriend of 3.5 years who her friends have never met. Is it normal I hope she's infertile? She can be a pathetic childish mess all she wants but this would all take a dark turn if a child was involved. Thoughts?

She sounds like a selfish and self-centered person.

Someone needs to point out to her that babies aren't fashion accessories or toys, but actually very demanding little animals, and you're stuck with them for at least 18 years. Maybe if she understood that a kid would really mess up her lifestyle, she'd have second thoughts.

I feel sorry for any child that she might have. Hard to feel sorry for someone like her finally being forced to deal with the real world, but it might be grimly amusing to see how she copes.

About the only vaguely positive thing I can see in this tale of a child-woman is that she's been with her boyfriend for more than three years. Who knows what the hell is actually going on between them and what he gets up to when doing his rounds, but that might count for something.

    • It truly is a miracle that he's survived with her this long, I've never met him but witnessed them talking on the phone and it ended in swearing and tears every time. My theory is that his naivety is keeping them together, he's only 21 so he's been with her all his adult life and probably thinks her princess strops and violent threats are normal girlfriend behaviour, which now I think about it is pretty sad.

It all sounds pretty grimly immature. Kids should grow up before they have kids.

One can only hope that she's not so incredibly stupid that she believes that having the boyfriend's child will improve the relationship and lock him to her.

I feel bad for that child to be. It's gonna grow up spoiled and on drugs. But it could also teach her some responsibility and work if she doesn't get tired of it and dump it with her mom.

    • You're right, her mum is just going to gain another child if she does get her wish.

You don't have to do a thing...Life itself will smack her right upside the face. Then she'll regret everything she ever did or said. Karma, baby..Karma.
