Is it normal i hit the wrong pedals when using cruise control?

Cruise control on, both feet on the floor, someone stops in front of me and I hit the wrong pedal. Almost rear-ended someone punching the gas by accident. Anyone else have this problem with cruise control? Doesn't happen often but that one incident was enough for me to seriously cut back my cruise use.

If you can't automatically find the brake pedal when you need it, you have no right driving at all!

I agree: why would cruise control cause anyone to forget where the brake pedal is?

Its like when my right foot is pulled back from the gas, my left foot has no point of reference as to where the brake is. Btw I've been a delivery driver for years with no accidents.

No. I don't use cruise control.

unfortunately there are so many crashes that happen because the driver accidentally hit the gas instead of brakes.

I have the same problem when I'm sleep driving. Socruise times if I'm real tired on a long down hill stretch I'll knock the car out of gear(stick shift, no cruise control) and freewheel and have a power nap . Knowing I will wake up when I hit the sped ramp (or whatever its called at the bottom . my problem is I usually hit the brake. I nearly went out the windshield the other night
Don't know if this is any help, if not stop using cruise or stick your right foot to break pedal with tape and use left foot for gas.
