Is it normal i have sores in the back of my tongue?

Is it normal I have sores in the back of my tongue. This morning I felt up feeling ick. I am congested and cant really breeze through my nose. I have swelling in the very back of my tongue. Its so far back that when I touch it I gag. It hurts and causing me to have a sore throat but drinking fluids just makes it feel like there is more flem at the back of my throat. Its also on the top of my tongue so I know its not my soft pallet(The little lump things at the back of your throat).
