Is it normal i have difficulty feeling sorry for people who get conned?

My dad has always said you can't con an honest man.
And there is a certain point to his thought, you hear all the time about people who lose their money in ponsy schemes, where they were promised upwards of 10% return on their investment in just a few months. It's almost impossible to get a return that high, that quick, unless something illegal is going on.

Recently I saw on the news where an old man received a phone call saying he won a million dollars but he had to pay 43,000 in tax upfront, and he did send them the check and lost all the money.

Maybe I'm just cynical but when you lose your money from either being that stupid, or greedy enough to ignore the fact that your ridiculously high return must be illegal then I have difficulty feeling sorry for you.

Yep. I read a news article, small town, where this old couple bought a 'toy hauler' (trailer used to haul atv's, etc) for a steal but it was a scam. It literally was a toy, like a matchbox car size trailer but sorta portrayed as the real thing but not explicitly. Legal, technically. They wanted sympathy and played up the elderly angle but fuck those people...they were the real scammers trying to buy a $5000 trailer for $500. Like they didn't know they would be robbing somebody if they actually got that trailer for only $500. No sympathy. Honest people wouldn't try to get something so cheap without making sure it was all kosher and making sure the owners knew what they were doing. You're absolutely right.

But the government uses the money to teach math so that there are fewer dumb people to play.

Don't be cynical, 300 million to one is good odds!

I feel no guilt for people that've been conned themselves as a matter of fact I'm in such a situation at present moment, there's this guy my white-ass has given all the chances to in the world, to make a long story short an ultimatum will be given and a notice to vacate will be served. You cannot let dark people take you kindness (whiteness) for a weakness because they'll walk all over your ass no matter how long you've known them they need to be forced by the court to pay and potentially have a god damn police officer accompany them like children while they vacate the premises. You'll find out sooner or later, FUCK.

Offer him $200 cash (or whatever amount you feel worthy) to leave right now. Costs you $200 but he's gone immediately, no further damages and no more wasted time or legal battle.

You mean to tell me that I should pay this person $200 to get the fuck out of my house when he's about to owe me $500 back rent? You cannot be serious, are you serious? If what is owed isn't payed by tomorrow I will be filing a forcible detainer suit, paying rent isn't rocket science sweetheart.

Not if you don't think it's worth it. It's just a tactic to get someone out immediately and hopefully without damage to your property, if you evict it costs money and a lot of time and some people are assholes who will cause thousands in property damage on top of it all. It does kinda sound ass-backwards on the surface but it works.

That's true in a lot of places throughout the U.S. for example Detroit, well lets not go there...

In Texas the law isn't as ass-backwards like some places but thanks for the advice. There's no way I'm paying someone to leave my house when they owe ME money, over my dead body... Thanks

OK, the only sensible option is to completely embarrass him at his birthday. Outdress him and bring a fancy appetizer. If anybody rags on you just say you are half blind.
