Is it normal i have been having dreams about the same girl for 7 years?

We broke up in 2008, she had been the girl of my dreams from middle school through college and we ended up dating a little after high school.
I have dreams about her at least once a week, sometimes 2-4 times a week, and wake up sweating sometimes, and always feel sad and depressed for a while after, until I get into the flow of the day.
Is this normal, it doesn't seem normal to me, because I have asked many people and they all think it's a bit excessive.
