Is it normal i have a hard time calling my boyfriend by his first name

We've been dating for 5 years and i have a hard time calling him by his first name. I can talk about him by his name, but i cant directly talk to him by his name. This is because when we were introduced in High school, everyone called him by his last name and we were friends for 11 months before dating, so I called him by his last name too.
So I just call him "baby" all the time.
Sometimes I will call him by his first name but it just sounds and feels weird to me.

    I can't say my fiance's name without "singing" it.... not really singing.. but like, I extend it a bit.. like, "Caaaaaleeeebb" It's weird. And he's got a name I've adored all my life and I still can't say it to him... I feel weird.. =/
    I can't say my own name either... I hate it... it just sounds weird when I say my own name..

    My dad never calls my mum by her first name. I'm never quite sure why. He just doesn't like it. Mind you, she is called Rapunzel.

    I have trouble calling people by there first name for other reasons...I have an irrational fear that I'll get it wrong, even with my Aunt who I have know all my life...kinda dumb.

    In your case-it's quite sweet. But just keep saying it and you'll be surprised how quickly it becomes second nature to you :)

    My friends started calling me by my last name for some reason... it stuck though. Now everyone I meet through my friends I introduce as myself with my first name but they always end up calling me by my last name. Not sure if I love it or should hate it.

    I find it tough to call anyone by their first name. I'm not sure why, I just feel more comfortable just saying "Hi, buddy" or something like that.

    Ive had the same problem. I got over it though(: just try saying his name more and youll get used to it.
