WHAT? 4 years is much too big, what do you have in common exactly? No, that's just too weird I'm afraid - completely unheard of. A grand total of 4 years, though.

4 years is not that big of an age gap.

Now perhaps say you were 43, it still wouldn't be an issue.

No, you should only have friends born at the EXACT SAME TIME as you. *rolls eyes*

My mom dated guys in their twenties when she was 13-14 in the sixties, so I think having a younger platonic friend is OK in 2015. I have friends 4 years younger than me, and I have friends 3-4 years older than me IRL. On IIN and other websites I have friends who are decades older than I am.

Most of my current friends I met in university. You tend to assume everyone's your age in school, so this is totally normal. Plus, I'm great friends with my living grandparents ;)

Ofc it's normal, it's only 4 years and in friendship age doesn't matter

Of course it's normal. That's just a reflection of your youth.

There's a 42 year age gap between my wife and I and our relationship is doing just fine. I don't think age is of any consequence in a relationship, as long as both parties are adults.

So what. I was 22 and had an 18 year old boyfriend. He was still in HS...didn't last very long but he was so cute.
