Is it normal i have a desire to hurt cats?

I don't know why since I actually like cats. I think they're cute and cuddly, I love the feel of their soft fur, I'll usually give them food if I have any and I love petting them but for some reason the longer I'm around a cat I get this desire which steadily increases to hurt them.
