Is it normal i hate when children under 16 watch 18+ rated movies/tv shows?

It's like a huge petpeeve of mine. I have a cousin who is 9 and watches American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, Skins reruns, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, True Blood, etc and she's not mature by any means for a 9 year old.

I also have a friend who when I was last over her house, put on Zack and Miri Make a Porno for her 10 year old and 14 year old boys.

Is it normal I get pissed off when I see this? I told her they should at least be 16 as they're not even through puberty yet or mature enough and the 10 year old boy somehow heard me and said, "I saw porn before silly" and the other one said "yeah porn is awesome". My friend said "that's enough, don't say that" and then the 10 year old laughed and said "I can't wait to see v@gina".

Is this the new generation or has this always been the norm and I was just raised by a family who actually cared about maturity levels/appropriate movies/TV shows?

Teenagers think they are smarter than any adult and really don't need to listen, no matter how good the advice is, which shows how stupid and immature they really are. A lot of very intelligent people have put a lot of thought into the rating system, to protect these children from themselves, but these immature children still think they know best.
Really, if there wasn't some valid reason to rate films, the industry would be much happier, because anybody could see their films and they would make more money. Duh!

Zack and Miri Make a Porno wouldn't be shocking to six year olds. By that age, they've been exposed to bad acting so very many times.

This creates dirtbag kids. Kids that are rude, say explicit words they don't know the definitions of, and have low moral standing. This is not cute to me, its not funny, and it needs to stop.

I'm guessing the reason for your anger is because you weren't allowed to watch 18+ movies when you were their age. Age is just a number, some 12 year olds can handle adult movies but some 18 year olds can't.

Thats the way things are going. Its becoming normal even though it shouldnt. I believe parents lack of discipline is making the younger generation soft and low on moral values.

I think it depends on the kid. Some can watch "adult" things and understand without being immature about it regardless of age (although as a ground rule i'd say 6 is a tad too young to watch Saw or Death Proof) i think for the most part, if a kid was raised well by the time he/she is 13 or so they should be able to handle most anything being shown at the movies without being immature about it... my favorite movies when i was a kid were horror films and I'm not an absolute freak or sociopath so I guess you can see my point
