My boyfriends brother hunts and his house has quite a few deer heads and stuffed critters. I feel like they stare at me and it's creepy!
He doesn't even eat the meat he just kills them for trophies like Buffalo Bill. He sends distasteful Christmas cards with himself holding dead animals. Am I being a weenie or is he the one who is weird ?
Well the heads wouldnt bother me m..not in my house but if in someone else's I wouldnt care...unless there was like a clutter of them.
I also wouldnt want a christmas card with dead deer on it lol... I coukd just see my daughter crying thinking he killed Santa's reindeer.
If it bothers you ...you should say something...at least about the card if you dont like getting them.
I think what bothers me the most is the fact he wastes so much meat ...what does he do with it if he doesnt eat it???

I think it's creepy to put heads of things he killed on walls and stuff them, how is that different than killing elephants for ivory?
Well you kill the elephant for just the ivory and the rest of it is left to rot. The taxidermy place he takes it too most likely uses the meat...he might get a deal on the price of getting the head stuffed if he gives them the meat.
also animal hunting seasons take into consideration matting season and the babies.
Elephant babies are left alone to die.
I guess Im a bit worked up cause I saw online some rare deer with a single horn was shot and stuffed...it was a female and for some reason it had an antler. I tend to think of deer as pets I feed the ones that live near me. I know its not wrong to hunt them but I could never do it.
Oh thats interesting you think they would want to look at its DNA ...might be interesting to see or try to pinpoint what gave it that horn...also a little sad because it was kinda a unicorn.
Yeah but they are also a source if food even if he is weird and doesn't eat the meat.
you feeding the deer near your home can make them more trusting of humans you know.
I can see how someone might find that kinda creepy. I think maybe one deer head in a so called game room or den might be appropriate. I don't like to see tiny stuffed rodents.
House decorations sometimes shows peoples personality. He likes hunting and wants to decorate his house to show it off.
He can put whatever he wants in his house.
What doesn't seem normal is not eating what he hunts. Does he at least sell the meat?
Hunting is a great alternative to slaughterhouses, but I don't agree with people who do not eat or at least sell or give away the meat from what they kill.
