Is it normal i hallucinated a song i never heard while heavily medicated?

I recently got out of the hospital after an episode of seizures from my epilepsy. I was heavily medicated with IV feeding me medication and saline and had to be put into an induced coma. For some reason I woke up saying, "Have you ever seen Sydney from a 747 at night? It's such a beautiful light." I have no clear where I heard this and the hospital staff said they didn't know where I got it from either. Apparently it's a song by a musician named Paul Kelly, I'm guessing an Aussie? (Keep in mind, I'm American).
I just find it interesting. I have no recollection of ever hearing this song anywhere, it doesn't seem like a well known song either, but the drugs unlocked some sort of word jumble I kept repeating when I was coming off of the sedative and was being pumped with depakote.

Sounds like you did in fact hear it somewhere though. I'm a musician and I've dreamed entire melodies before but it's rare.

    • I think there may have been a patient or staff member who sang it, that's all I can think of. I was very sedated, and got convinced at one point my roommates doctor and nurses were sexually assaulting her. She was 90 and dying, but I'm starting to think I was misinterpreting what they were doing when they would close the curtain. At least I hope so...

I'm sure you were. I was in a hospital once and thought I had been abducted by aliens.

This has happened to me before! I wasn't in the hospital though, this actually happened to me after drinking heavily for a few weeks and then abruptly quitting. The human brain is a funny thing.
