Today was the third time I was close to sending an email to delete/suspend my account. I don't do it because I know I'll regret it, but when I'm in a bad mood and come on here I tend to see all the negative things and get even more pissed off that I want to leave and never come back.
Heehee. *admits sheepishly*: I've done it, once (out of frustration).
Taking a break was good though and that's really all I needed (closing my account was overkill).
I started caring a lot about the people here and about the site in general. When things turned really negative, I just got so fed up with all the shit I was hearing and quit. I didn't think I'd come back, but then several really nice folks here convinced me to return. Things have been pretty peachy since I've been back. The holiday from IIN was good though.
Maybe you should just take a break for a few weeks - like don't even log in. See if that makes you feel any better. It's probably best to let the people who you interact with the most here know you'll be absent for a bit because people do tend to get attached to one another and they'd most likely appreciate the heads up. :)
I've done it, but I came back. And I will do it again. I know there are many people who can make this site hard to tolerate at times but if you are feeling annoyed, take a break. Walk away for a few days, or weeks, then come back. Do it as many times as necessary.
If you can listen to people's stories, advice them and feel like you might've helped someone really lost., then I guess it's worth beung here. Just ignore the weirdos if you can't deal with it..
This happened to me a few times. There are some weeks where I will get a lot of complaints from users about my posts and stories and it will make me seriously consider whether or not I should be here if I am making so many people miserable and pissing so many people off.
And then I remember that I don't really care =/ I don't even know why I have those thoughts.
I understand what you mean. But I can't stress this part enough:

It may seem like the perfect decision right now but you'll find after 24 hours you won't want to do it. Emotional decisions always tend to be bad decisions.
If it upsets you so greatly, maybe you shouldn't be on IIN? I mean, the more the merrier, but again -if you just get stressed out here, it's no fun...
I know right?! There are a couple people here who I REALLY hope leave! I mean, telling me to go to hell and insulting me because I stand up for what I believe? Are you fucking serious? And questioning my maturity just because I don't like you? Not everybody likes everybody. One person here annoyed me but she might have left...good.
I understand how you feel. It's difficult to be optimistic when some people are continually trying to make everyone feel as badly as they feel.
It's the wrong time of year but I actually really fancy getting off the site for a bit and going for a picnic somewhere remote. You'd be more than welcome to join me. :)
:) thanks. My apartment was swaying to the symphony of destruction! It's a disaster over here. My power just came back on like an hour ago so yay!! But at least half the people still don't have it. Although I did appreciate all the stars at night. It was sooo dark. Eerie.

You think this is bad? You should see the shit they post on Yahoo Answers. That shit will really get you pissed off. People on YA are WAYYY meaner than here on IIN.
