Thank you to the person who gave me gold and thank you for the lovely message!! I was thinking of getting it actually, I wrote the post about thinking of getting gold...did you know that?? Lol, weird coincidence. Anyway the gesture was very sweet and I'm probably over-reacting and gushing too much. And I think I know who the secret benefactor is...but don't worry I won't say! It was really kind and has made me very happy :) xx

            I like this "dearest" talk, hmm you sure you're not my secret benefactor ; ) It was amazing to get a gift like that, never got an online gift like this before! But never used forums before really. So receiving it as a gift was more amazing than it itself. They could really make Gold something better. l'd like to favourite members and get notifications when you've been thumbed up. Well they should do that anyway. But that might send some people into notification over-ride I guess.

            The main thing is I can send and be sent private messages. I can also see posts before they are fully moderated I think...pah. And this dumb highlight thing, which is a good idea I think, but should be free. There might be more things I don't know about yet.

              The only nice thing about Gold seems to be the private messages option.. Although you are right about the fact that all of those stuff should actually be free.
