Is it normal i get derealization and emotionally numb?

When I get a shock or something happens that makes me anxious or worried or freak out I get derealization and feel emotionally numb until I sleep. When I wake up these feelings are usually gone. Is this normal?

I have derealization for the past four years now and it hasn't gone away. If you actually think you have it I would be extremely concerned and try to my best to prevent it from becoming permanent because your life it's going to become a living hell.

If you have any questions about derealization feel free to respond to me.

I can sort of relate - except mine is more voluntary. Like I'm consciously numbing myself just to forget anxiety or any kind of stressful emotion then I kind of get lost in that.

De-realization has a name so you can't be the only one. If it's a constant thing then I'd say look into it more.

It's not normal. It happens to people. Myself included. I'm just not sure how to work on it. I get it while driving even sometimes so I do things like chewing gum to keep myself from zoning out.
