Is it normal i freed the pigeons?

The other day, I was on my neighbor's roof and I noticed she had a pigeon coop. I find this weird and sad because they're not hers to own, they belong in the wild. So here I am on her roof and feeling sorry for the pigeons so I opened the cage and freed them all.

This was a few days ago and now she hasn't spoke to me since. At first I thought it was because she knew and that she had a camera on the roof but then I think she's just down because I've heard crying come from the roof before.

Should I have done this? is it normal to free them?

    Meh. Unless she's only had them for a few days or weeks, the birds will eventually come back. That's what pigeons do.

      I think it's important to consider that maybe these pigeons were feral, not domestic, and aren't accustomed to living in cages. If this is the case, OP did them a favor.

          He did the right thing how would you feel if you were trapped in a tiny cage you're entire life watching other birds fly around. Atleast dogs and cattle can move around. Fuck pigeon coops. Fuck people who put them in there I hope they rot in a prison cell until death.

    If she had them for any length of time and fed them regularly, the birds will come back. It was a little insensitive of you to disrupt this woman's life but I strongly believe birds should never be kept in cages so what can I say...

    Just like in the movies when someone frees all the dogs from a pound I think this is similar and executable but I think you should let her know even in an anonymous letter just so she doesn't think the birds walked by them self and have a heart failure
