Is it normal i find it so hard to tell someone i love them

I have come to the realisation that its not just difficult to say it to someone I have romantic feelings for but friends & family too.
I find it extremely hard to say those 3 words and I am never the one to say it first but rather show it. I don't know why, I seem to have always been like this. I did actually tell my cousin tonight that I love her...only took me about four months to say it in person (well on the phone). Tbh, I find it easier via text/less awkward. It was so hard to tell my cousin that I said it in a rapid motion & kinda just blurted it out before ending the convo. My heart was racing & I was extremely nervous...
She was like "I heard that, and I don't normally hear easily" while giggling :p
Is this normal??

It's ok. We're all different and if it's your nature just embrace it. Much better than saying those words to someone new every month in my opinion. Be yourself and you'll be ok. It's good your cousin actually giggled when she heard that. Most likely it means she doesn't mind although it's awkward. Maybe with time she'll feel that way about you too

  • I can only tell my wife I love her. Not my mother or anyone else.

I find it hard too. I haven't said it to anyone in almost year apart from when I'm messing around with my friends.

  • We should say ILY to people we care about, while we have their presence in our lives.
But do you love her like a sister or fancy her?

Try practicing the words on the elders of your family. It's easier to spew the words out to them. I think we overcomplicate love. People rarely share it anymore. ♩you've got to hide your love away♩

I usually don't say 'I love you'. I usually try ti just show it. It's the highest quality partnership I've ever experienced. Love, to us, is a behavior, and so obviously given and deeply received. It would be dishonorable to confine it to a tired expression.
