Is it normal i find it hard to order vinegar because of how it sounds?
I always get this awkward feeling whenever I get to the end of my subway or mike subs sandwich order and have to say "oil & vinegar" at the end. I sometimes add oregano so "vinegar" won't be the last thing I said. It gets worse if the person making my sandwich is black or looks black. I make sure to stress the "egar" instead of an "i" sound, but it doesn't help at all! I get so nervous that half the time I don't get vinegar on my sandwich, and then it doesn't taste as good. Also whenever I want hot sauce on my philly cheese steak, I find it hard to say if the person making it looks latino. Somehow I'm okay going into sushi places and ordering from the chefs, I guess because they expect me to get sushi.
