Is it normal i don't wait in line in traffic?

I always notice this while driving and can never figure it out. One thing I see other drivers do is when there are two lines and one is packed but the other one is empty. Why do people follow the full line?

Sometimes it seems because the full line is going the direction they want to go, but this wait can be easily solved by going in front of the empty line and cutting everyone off in the front, saving unnecessary time waiting for people.

I don't care if I have to cut people off because if they are too stupid to figure this out then fuck them.

I only do that in time-sensitive trips

it's not that others are too stupid to realize this "shortcut," but that it's good roadside etiquette. along with giving way, raising your hand to acknowledge/apologize, using lights when possible instead of horn at night etc

I always take the shortest line at stop lights. It's the practical thing to do when driving. Stop lights piss me off...

You need to be careful when you do this, OP. Lately I've seen a lot of road raged people driving. The last three people I've seen do what you did wound up in a fight with one or more of the people they cut off.
