Is it normal i don't think its bad to change for someone you like?

The old saying "Don't change who you are just to be liked by a certain person", doesn't really stick with me. Over our life, we change anyhow, whether it be subtly or drastically is entirely up to the individual. I just think that if you are truly keen on someone, what's the problem with adapting new hobbies/interests and such ? At then end of the day, changing some of the ways you were may even benefit in your favor. You may discover some things/new interests about yourself that you may have never known about if you hadn't met this person! Is my perspective normal?

I think it's normal to dress up in costumes and pretend to be someone else.

Yes. That's just stupid cliche lazy writers use.
If the change is positive, then it's a good thing.
And like you said, people change anyway - think of how you were as a kid then as an adult, you're a completely different person. People grow up, we adapt, and MOST people are so far away from the "true selves" anyway, and they don't even realise. We grow up, essentially faking personalities to fit in with the environment and then talk about being our "true self"?? like, wtf is that?

    Anyway, positive change is good.

Ahh I like your thinking! Very intelligent remark. I mean I think along the same lines so I fully agree :) Thanks for your comment

Ah, thanks. Yeah, I agree, like it can be good to be open to someone else's personality/interests and embrace and partake in that.
Suppose I should have added though, that people probably mean it's not good to pretend to be something that's opposite to who you are, or drastically different, you know? Like to fake being a neo-nazi just so you can go out with one (ok that's a terrible example..)
But the way you described it, isn't bad I don't think.
