Is it normal i don't feel like anything is meaningful anymore and its all cheap

All people care about is sex, violence, drugs, and money. I doubt anyone has sex in love anymore. It doesn't have a meaning now. And people can die and NOBODY F*CKING CARES unless it's a celebrity. How can someone watch somebody die on a screen or not and not get fucked up about it? Well I guess human life means nothing anymore. All you care about is money money money and fucking fucking fucking! There are people not like that but I think they just exist on the Internet because they're sick of this twisted and depraved society.

If everything is so cheap why do I need money money money?

    Blah blah whinge whinge.

If your only experience of the world around you is via specific mainstream media, then that explains why you have a warped perspective on what society in general cares about.

But if you actually extricated yourself from this single, closed window of culture and engaged with real people out in the real world, maybe you'd realise actually most people's priorities and aspirations don't revolve entirely around sex, violence, drugs, and money. In other words, if you want to dislocate yourself from this negative perception of the world around you, travel, meet people, see how different the truth is.

We are animals. We have baser urges, and people succumb to them. It's not necessarily bad but people need to learn moderation. Smoke a J every now and then, try some ecstasy or something? No problem. Snort meth and rape virgins? Get the hell outta here.

Sex was never meant to be about love, it's one of the most carnal things in the world. Everything is inherently meaningless, it is only our perceptions, ideas and beliefs and actions that give anything meaning

    • Well fine then. Then abstractions such as respect, honor, and dignity doesn't exist. Neither good or evil. Negativity and positivity aren't real. We're just matter in motion.

Either be on the path of morality or be on the path of nothingness. I've been on both.

I'm not convinced people are more desensitised to violence and death than they used to be. People have been waging war for all of human history. There didn't used to be pictures and video of it, of course (and even when those things were invented, they weren't available internationally over the internet or even with international news on TV until relatively recently), so I suppose people saw it less, but I think war was more glorified because of that.

It sounds like you're having a rough time, though. If you want to talk about anything, feel free to message me.

I hate this too, which I suppose this is one of the many reasons I crave foreign and vintage things.

  • When you destroy your own society the people who want to become more and become more than an animal will hopefully leave you to kill yourselves.

Life is and has always been meaningless. People should be free to do whatever they want but in reality we trade that freedom to a certain extent so that we can belong in a so called civilized society. Who are you to judge what is right or wrong for other people to do or care about? You talk about sex and love but I doubt you have any experience with either subject.

I wouldn't agree that life is and has always been meaningless. Perhaps from an objective perspective, but I think of it more as a blank slate. That is, we are free (as you say) to imbue life with as great or as little meaning as possible, and choose what that meaning is. Otherwise I agree with you.

Well forget it. I thought this would be more about all the cheap trinkets and whatnot made out of China's gargage. And how things were awesome and handmade back in the day, like out of metal and sweat and blood. *sigh*
if you don't like the sex and drugs and violence and whatever else you said up there, then don't look, cover your ears, hold your breathe, cross your fingers and grit your teeth.
