Is it normal i do not respect vegetarians and think they are hypocrites?

I really do not respect vegetarians and find being one hypocritical. I see a lot of vegetarians who say "Im a vegetarian EXCEPT"... Not trying to dictate how people live but if you are going on an all veggie diet and protest meat isnt it hypocritical to have EXCEPTIONS!

Now aside from the people who do it since they just do not like meat people who do it for supposedly moral reasons are cheating. I have even been lectured by a vegetarian about why meat is bad that ate CHICKEN! Not even eggs but CHICKEN! You can not eat chicken for lunch and tell me why not to eat a cow, pig and fish! Now vegans I consider the real thing.

They do not eat anything coming from or made from cow. So that includes wool, leather and so on. See while I myself eat meat I respect these people for actually being committed to a cause. Unlike vegetarians that always cheat on the diets but still feel like its ok to lecture the rest of us. People who do it for diet reasons are probobly less likely too cheat as well since they are trying to be healthy.

You've made a point about "vegetarians" labelling themselves wrongly and how atrocious that is, so perhaps you should follow your own lead and stop labelling vegetarians wrongly.

There's a big scale of what a person is prepared to eat, and there are quite a few different labels for different diets, etc. When I think vegetarian, I don't consider someone who eats chicken to fall into that category. And I think the type of person you're talking about is in the minority. As a vegetarian (who doesn't eat any meat or fish), I'd rather not be called a hypocrite, thanks.

You sound kind of close-minded; I'm a vegetarian, I don't wear clothes made from animal fur or skin, but I don't hate meat people. I hate animal cruelty, but often times the animals are treated well before being harvested. Ergo, I won't judge you for eating meat, I just prefer to not eat it myself. I am opposed to animals being skinned for their fur though; fur farms treat the animals like crap and sometimes they're skinned alive :( Fake fur exists for a reason.

    • The animals are actually not always treated well before they are eaten. That is the whole animal right issue. Most farms have become factories. The reason they skin them alive is to assure they do not damage the coats. Why they try and ban this in a lot of places.

"They do not eat anything coming from or made from cow. So that includes wool, leather and so on."

LOLWUT. First of all, wool doesn't come from a cow. Not sure where you got that, it comes from a sheep. Also as a vegetarian, I can confirm that we don't eat wool and leather.

Also the people you talked about who are vegetarian except for when it comes to some specific type of meat or fish, are what I would call not vegetarians. There's probably a name for what they are other than poser, but it's not called a vegetarian. Also any vegetarian who lectures other people is just using their vegetarianism as an excuse to be a douchebag, and they do not represent all vegetarians. Personally I'm a vegetarian because I personally am sickened by meat, and don't want to support it. I will eat free range eggs and drink free range milk. I don't wear real leather either. I have some fake leather shoes though, not sure if that makes me a hypocrite or not.

You're an idiot. I'm a vegetarian and I've been that way all my life. I don't give a shit what other people eat. Don't you find it hypocritical that you're getting on vegetarians for trying to force their opinions on others when it seems you're doing the EXACT same thing here? I don't know just a thought.

    • I never said anyone had to eat meat. Sorry if you took it that way.

Why do people get so upset over silly things like this. For 4 years I ate no meat except fish, and if I chose to tell someone I'm vegetarian except I eat fish I was absolutely correct.
I don't have to fall into a labelled category because I choose what my diet is, and just because its easier to say vegetarian over listing off what you do and don't eat doesn't make you lesser than anyone else.
People are so touchey about vegetarianism it's pretty annoying.
Let people eat and do as they please, no one exists to conform to your standards

I just don't eat meat. Mostly because I can't see much of a difference between animal meat and human meat. Its gross to me. But I don't call myself a vegetarian.

Not eating meat does not make one a vegetarian! It makes one an idiot!
There are so many of these idiots who just stop eating meat for a variety of reasons ("I won't eat anything with eyes" is my favorite) only to have their bodies begin to break down at 50, because they did not compensate for their meatless diets. An real vegetarian meal is a very complex and time consuming (to cook) thing if it is to be a well balanced and healthy meal. Humans can not just stop eating meat without severe consequences later in life.
I am not talking about vegans, who I consider to be really strange, but that's at least a well planned and healthy diet.

    • Not eating meat is the definition of a vegetarian you moron. I can see you are not very intelligent are you? Vegans are even more restricted. Vegetarians can drink things like milk. A vegan cuts everything coming or made from an animal out of the diet. So saying you think being vegetarian is stupid is the same as saying vegan is stupid. Its like Catholics and Christians. Catholics are a lot more strict but they both follow similar rules and teachings.
