Is it normal i couldnt open up to my psyciatrist because she was pretty.....

Today was my first appointment with a psyciatrist and it was so awkward.

The lass was young (about my age) and very pretty. It totally threw me off. I found myself wanting to flirt instead of telling her about my problems. It just didnt feel right?

Normal?

So true. She would have to respect your honesty. If nothing else it would benefit your sessions.

I want to know what she says too. Please tell her and tell us the result.

Yeah, I can kind of understand what you mean. If I'm buying something personal, I don't want to buy it from someone I find attractive. Like medication, or something.

It's like we see everyone as a potential mate and don't want to ruin our chances too early.

I agree, even tho it's pretty silly.

Im a man so my first reaction is oooo pretty lady. I dont want to tell this pretty thing all the fucked up thoughts that go through my head, even if it is her job to listen. It just doesnt feel right!

Yeah, that's exactly it. I was buying female clothes (as a present for someone) and deliberately chose to go to the fifty-something year old cashier. That was a bad move, though. She asked me whether the clothes fit me okay and the younger cashier smirked. Grr!

I don't know if you know me, but I just want to say that it's good to see on this site again.

I do remember, yes. We had an Anime and an Anime7 on the site and I always thought you were the same person as I liked both your comments for the same reasons.

It's good to be dappled again.

Nowhere, really. For while I didn't come to IIN or even read it, then I read it again for a month or two, then I put on a tiger costume for a month or two, then I finally thought it'd be okay to come back as myself. You wouldn't believe how welcoming everyone has been. It's really nice.

I agree! Attractive people are more difficult to talk to. Even of the same sex....or is that just me? Hahas and I'm straight so yeah, maybe just me..Even though attractive people would be easier on the eyes, I find them harder to look at because I try on purpose not to stare and I get curious if they look at me while bleh people are just eh whatever. :D

You're lucky. Maybe if my psychiatrist was more attractive I'd might open up to him more. Lol, I kid. I'm not open with him because he's a jackass. Flirt if you want, but overdo it and she may put you in your place or claim sexual harassment.

I do think there is some validity to your concerns.
