Is it normal i can't stop thinking about car crashes?

The thought of crashing in a car keeps interrupting my thought processes. I'll bet trying to read, type a report, or sometimes, even drive, and the thought of crashing in a car, usually by my own fault, will come into my mind out of nowhere and grip me with fear. I just keep thinking about it, no matter how hard I try to stop, it keeps pounding at the door to my thoughts and barging in.

I was also going to say "do not drive until you resolve this issue."

Do not drive a car until you resolve this issue. This will become a self fulfilling prophesy if you are not very, very careful.
Then, if you live, you will run around going, "I knew it was going to happen. I knew it!" To which someone will reply, "Then why were you driving? Too bad you killed that woman's child in your accident."

I actually was having similar recurring negative thoughts once, but I kept imagining that all of my teeth suddenly snapped. I couldn't stop imagining it for two days, then it just stopped. It was pretty awful...

Fear can be a disaster magnet. Caution is good, but excessive worry is destructive.
