Is it normal i can't stop drinking?

I promised myself I wouldn't drink tonight after last night's binge. But here I am again, getting hammered. I slept all day and even forgot to take my dog for a walk. He crapped in a pile of trash in my bedroom. Is it normal that I can't keep a promise to myself?

I have an amazing life and I drink every single day. You just need to get your priorities straight and learn how to function while drinking. Everyday after work(I'm in the Air Force) I either go to the bar for 3 hours or pick up a 24 pack of beer. It's human nature to become dependant on things and it makes us feel comfortable. Nothing wrong with that, just don't go ruining your life by drinking all day everyday like I used to to. Priorities first, happiness second!

Normal behaviour for an alcoholic. For the dog's sake please find it another home where it will be looked after properly and for your own sake get some help to stop drinking and wasting your only life in pointlessness

Okay.. Coming from an actual PSYCHOLOGIST, (well an in progress psychologist), I believe you're an alcoholic.. This is a disease of the mind where you are actually addicted to alcohol and sorry to break it to ya, but its ruining your body.. This much alcohol can cause major defects to the brain, liver, and other parts of the body.. It can also result in early aging and even death. One day you could wake somewhere you don't know, or you could not wake up AT ALL. This can be fixed, but you need somegroup therapy. I suggest looking up phone numbers and near by behavior health associations and try getting yourself into one. This will do you good and save your life. If you need anything else my # is 1775-527-5872 (work #) hope this helps.

    • I have piles of trash throughout the house. Stuff just drops on the floor and forms into piles. I dunno why it happens.

So it just happens? Nothing to do with you? Typical alcoholic bullshit, until they get sober nothing is ever their responsibility

So your that guy with the new dog you've only had for a week and no longer want anymore?

My advise is keep em outside cause your inability to take care of the animal will totally wreck your place with piss and shit. I've seen it happen where the owners say its best to pet the shit sit on the floor and dry before its disposed of LMFAO you FILTHY MOTHER FUCKERS amaze me

That's very typical of an alcoholic. It's a repeating cycle and it spirals out of control. Think of the state of your house as being symbolic of the state of your mind. When you drink alcohol you become depressed. That's clear. First, try cleaning up your house. I mean really clean it, not just a tidy. Check out Paul Wade's convict conditioning. Particularly bridging. It will make you feel great and give you some goals to work toward. If you really feel like you need to take something to replace alcohol though, I would recommend kratom. I know it's just another drug but it's way better than being addicted to alcohol. Try it out.
