Is it normal i brush compliments off / can't take them well

I have a hard time saying "thank you" to compliments, and taking them to heart. It's not that I think they have ulterior motives, or that they are lying to me, but I just feel awkward.

For instance, my coworker might say to the boss, "yeah he's a really good technician, he learns well bla bla bla etc," and I just stand there awkwardly thinking how to act in that situation.

It's not that I disagree with what they are saying, I just don't know how to respond. I feel weird standing there with somebody complimenting me to my face.

Anyone else? Just me? Am I just weird?

I'm the same. I think its my social anxiety, I don't know how to respond to certain things and just feel embarrassed.

I'm horrible with compliments too haha. It's pretty normal, I think.

i meant to click me too but i clicked yeah by accident! either way, it’s definitely normal. maybe it’s because so many responses can be perceived badly that we’re worried no matter what we say it’ll come off as arrogant.

Normal. It's generally a low self esteem thing.
