When I see a beautiful man, I can't just be attracted to them, I automatically become obsessed. They're very strong obsessions and they consume a lot of my time. These obsessions may last from a few days up to two years.
Haha oh dear, dont look at a certain someone's profile picture then! I'm not sure if "obsessive" is normal though. What does your obsessive behavior consist of?
Constant thinking about the guy in question, looking at him, dreaming about him. If he's a musician I'll download all of his muisc. If he's an actor, I'll buy all of his movies. I'll stalk him on social sites and, sometimes I'll even go to the extreme of trying to steal his look. Almost like I want to be him.

I wouldn't say it's normal but not unheard of. Someone in one of my college classes done it with myself and they even went as far as to give me a brand spankin' new phone just to text her...You girlies can be a little crazy sometimes when it comes to seeing people that fit your fancy in the looks department.
My beloved had a stalker in high school. She took pictures of him without him knowing. They hung out together a little after high school and she's like 'wanna see something?' She had 3 whole photo albums of him of pics she took for 3 years. He's like 'I didn't even know we went to the same school.....'
It hurts to be so pretty, huh? XD
If you are "copying" their look and want to "be them" (or feel that) -- you may subconsciously be envious of them; actually wishing you were them. Is there a lack of sexual arousal? Just over the top admiration?
Females are the same. Hence when females "obsess" over their favorite actresses/singers/stars of any kind and do it a touch more inconspicuously; following them on twitter, fb, to see pictures and see what they're up to.. even similar to you, just being a "fan" and buying the merchandise and getting consumed in aspects like finding every picture of them online, reading about their personal lives (blog sites) seeing what they're wearing and basically doing what you do. It sounds like basic admiration.
