Is it normal i am very depressed at the moment

I have the job of my dreams and all necessities in my life paid up at the age of 30. No reason to be depressed, but I still have this dark cloud hanging over my head. Perhaps it’s because the 30 year crisis is kicking in, perhaps it’s the pandemic, or maybe a completely different reason? I can’t put my finger on it.

If you have any tips on how to turn depression around, please let me know. I will greatly treasure your input.

You didn't mention a SO. All the material things in this world can be great and still be depressing if you're not able to share or enjoy it with someone special.

Late 20s early 30s were great and sad for me at the same time. I had money, things, and a good job. Just recently separated from a disfunctiona long term relationship, but no one to really care or share it with.

I got a little wild and had a great time for about 6 or 7 years but came to a point of slowing down and figuring out family, close friendship, and relationships, were more important than stuff.

Make a list of all the good things in your life and say out loud
"Thank you" or "I'm grateful for ............" as many times in the day as you think of it or are conscious of being depressed.

Find something new that u think u can enjoy or refind old passions u used to have when u were younger. Try to spend time by yourself in a way that u enjoy and try to find small sources of happiness in your daily life.
Also try setting small goals for yourself, something that's not particularly easy but u can achieve in a shortish period of time. Having something u are exited about or to keep u busy might help. Good luck buddy :]

Depression doesn't have to be situational. You can have the things you want and be depressed neurochemically. I suggest getting a psychological evaluation and beat wishes

Is it hormones? Some kind of medical issue? If your depression just came on out of the blue, I'd see a doctor and get some labwork.

    • No medical problems. It’s most likely the loneliness
