Is it normal i am thankful to a cat that almost made me blind

I was around 8-9 years old playing with my grandma's cat. I recall touching his limb when suddenly he freaked out from it and instantly scratched my face aggressively.

I was crying and my face was bleeding really bad although very gladly, it missed my eyes. That was the most traumatizing and damaging experience I ever had with a cat since I would have gone blind from it but thinking about it again, I was thankful to that cat.

Thanks to him I've a lifelong slashed-looking scar at the middle of my left eyebrow where no hair could grow anymore at the middle. Some people noticed the scar and said it looks cool and I was proud of it, thanks to the cat that gave me this cool scar.

    • I told people the truth but they thought I was lying. Must've looked like a convincing knife wound, haha.

I mean u didn’t go blind so why be angry at it?
My cat once scratched me in the white of my eye and he’s the most important thing in my life

    • I didn't state I was angry with the cat but in fact I was thankful for the accidental cool scar it gave me. If he did make me blind for the rest of my life though, I am really going to hate that cat alone because I didn't do distressing stuff to him at all in the first place like some other people would do like grabbing the cat's tail or rubbing its belly. I am sure you will hate it to too if you ever went blind from something harmless you did to a cat.

I think there's more to the story. Your stupid ass was probably pulling the cat's tail or something.

    • Not touching the tail at all. I was just stroking his head and neck like I always usually did with other cats. I am not the type of messing around with cat's tail or doing some other stupid stuff like that because I really hate seeing a cat in distressed. I just gently touched his front limb when he freaked out badly for unknown reason hence the aggressive scratch afterward which I was really caught off guard by it, not expecting what was coming for me at all because I never intended to hurt him in the first place at all.
