Is it normal i am american born, but can fool people with false accents.

I am an American born and raised, never visited Europe, only ever left the states once on a cruise to the Caribbean. However I can speak nearly flawless accents in British, Australian, Scottish, and Irish, including a few variations. I've had no training by voice actor or trainer, just movies and TV shows. Doctor Who, Sherlock, Harry Potter etc. Really it just started as a habit when I was much younger reading Harry Potter, a habit which annoyed my family and friends but stuck with me throughout the years. I'm a timid person normally and tend not to speak well with other people. I used to stutter and pause alot mostly due to being an introvert, a timid personality but when I speak with an accent it flows more easily and apparently it's really convincing.

I've had a lot of Skype calls in the past year due to most of my friends being online and in odd parts of the world. I've fooled people who've lived in Europe their whole lives into thinking I'm from the UK. Frankly I didn't think that was possible. I never started it to imitate or poke fun at Europeans, really I just thought it sounded better when I read aloud to myself, but now, after realizing how convincing it is I kind of want to hone my skills.

This reminds me of Amy Walker from YouTube..the lady who does various accents from around the world. You should do a video and give demonstrations of each accent you can do.

Maybe you're only fooling other Americans who are fooling you with their fake accents...!? O.o

Australia is not in Europe. Also, you might be able to fool naive Americans. I doubt you are going to put one over on the people who actually speak that way.

I said European because the majority are European accents, and at least two of the people I talked to was verified to be actually from places in Europe. I wouldn't post this otherwise. Accents aren't all that difficult to do, it's not like learning a language you keep everything but whatever vocal changes generally crop up in that accent then practice until it flows fluidly. Now, the only thing I have difficulty incorporating is the 4 billion changed names the English have.

I think I could spot you as a "faker" and I am American. I pick up on small details and everyone slips up.

I really doubt you've perfected the Australian accent though.

I haven't perfected any of them, really, and I doubt I will till I actually visit the countries and hear them first hand but I get the concept of it and can imitate it to some degree. I'm best at the English ones, I've been doing those for longest.

Sorry, I don't do Spanish. I loathe the Spanish language.
