Is it normal i act like this around women?

I have a lot of female friends who I like to take out places. Often I will introduce a new female friend to my friend group and some of my friends have talked to me about how they really don't like how I act when I am with a girl. I will give some examples.

A lot of my friends are rowdy and seem to make some people uncomfortable. When they act the least bit rude towards my lady friends I get very aggressive. They also don't like that I seem to ignore them and focus on the girl.

Whenever I take a girl out it is always my goal to make sure she has a good time and is comfortable and sometimes that will involve what some people say is acting like a dickhead. I'm not the least bit controlling or possessive but am very protective of others.

I think this seems pretty normal but I am often told I over react or am being pussy whipped when I just don't like people being rude to a girl I am hanging out with.

I see other guys act like douche bags to women and it seems like that is the norm these days and I am judged for acting how I do. It doesn't make much sense to me.

EDIT:
Something I should add to this topic that may be important is that I tend to hang out with crazy girls but I'm a pretty weird guy so I associate with like minded people.
A part of this issue is that I will support a girls crazy behavior. For example last night I brought a girl to the bar and she was flipping out and even threatening to kill people. Meanwhile I was laughing and going along with it and getting aggressive with anyone who talked back to her so I basically enable these girls to act as crazy as they want and nobody ever does shit but complain to me that I stick up for this type of behavior.

Shuggy, they do. But OP, you should not the womens behavior if they are acting that inappropriately. If they are doing nothing wrong then you have every right to stick up for the women.

On your question...your original post about being protective of the girl and seeing that she has a good time to me seems quite normal indeed...and that you may need to either go out alone with the girl or find a different group of friends to hang with...your edit, however, is not normal at all...this does seem quite strange indeed...you may overreact with your friends...and you may be somewhat obsessive, but still fairly normal...but going out with girls like the one you mentioned...find one that is probably not going to get you into danger or other kinds of trouble...you may wind up hurt...in jail...or, I fear to mention...dead...
