Is it normal helping my friend when she goes into labor what do i do?

Her husband can't be there , and her mother and sister would make it more stressful because of their high strung annoying personalities. But I never had kids and I really don't know what to do but want to be there for her once we get to the hospital.

Honestly, a google search would do you better.

From memory, the about.com site by Robin Elise Weiss has some great pregnancy resources, including how to help as a birthing partner.

Ideally, you should have gone to classes with your friend...thoigh if her husband being unavailable was a last minute thing, it's understandable.

    Good luck.

You can help by being support and hold her hand. You can also cut the umbilical cord if you wish...just let the doctor know. Also get her some real food after she has the baby ....get her whatever she wants. My mom got me a big cheeseburger, cheese balls, chocolate shake for my first meal after the baby was born.
Also you can be the person to drive her to the hospital as well.
