Is it normal gamer= loser?
Not to be mean but I generally assume that gamers are losers with no life and no girlfriend or boyfriend . Probably no real friends either. The older you are and the more time you game, the bigger loser. Am I correct?

Unfortunately it is my experience that lots of people think gamers are losers, and some of them are. There are many things in life that people waste their time on, and like anything else, video games have the potential to turn you into a loser. Personally I think sports fans are the biggest losers in society, in particular, football fans(American football, I haven't seen enough European football to know). To be clear, not the people who play sports themselves , just the ones that watch it religiously. I enjoy playing adult novice hockey, I suck at it but it's fun. Thing is though, many video games actually make you smarter. You will get the largest boost to your IQ by trying new video games all the time rather then sticking to a single one that you already know. I think most things in life work that way though. You get more out of new experiences then repeating old ones.
I play videogames constantly, got over 300 hours on skyrim, play the Xbox every day if I get the chance, usually for a few hours but I've got a girlfriend, have a not huge but decent sized and close circle of friends who go out pretty regularly
If anything its pure circumstance of course but I've actually been more social and have gotten my shit together more since I've spent more time gaming
If anything when I'm on the Xbox I'm usually online with friends
You are aware the the gaming industry is larger than the movie industry? It's like saying someone who watches movies has no life or partner.
Then you have to consider all the people that are famous and game. People like Vin Diesel game, I think I heard he plays WoW, and I'd like to put money down on you saying shit to him. Aha.
Ofcourse there will be people that fit what you say just as there are those that game but don't fit in to what you say.
So I'd say you're incorrect.
Yes, there is a side of gaming that is loser-esque and despicable. eg. I personally don't get people who sit and watch videos of others playing games hours everyday. But that's only because I'm more of a doer than a watcher. Plus, how is that any different than someone who consumes themselves with nothing but books, netflix, or drugs? Being gluttonous about anything is loser-esque. But hey lots of people are making 10 times more money than you and I from their gluttonous gaming habits. One kid from the US has gamed an average of 10 hours a day since he was 6. That's an average mind you. Now he's 16, and this year he just won ~1.7 million USD at an international gaming tournament.
I could give an assload of first and second hand accounts of people of different backgrounds, ages, lifestyles, majors that emphatically shatter that loser label. But that would be a waste of my time. Only three reasons you would think gamer = loser 1) Bait 2) You're severely unknowledgable about the reality of gamers and the gaming industry today 3) You belong to a very old generation, in which case it's understandable for you to be incapable of thinking differently.
I have some cousins who don't have jobs and spend days in gamer marathons. One of them even wore diapers. Maybe all gamers aren't as obsessed but these guys are pretty pitiful specimens.
I was born in their 1980s.
Playing games doesn't make someone a loser. It a form of entertainment just like reading and watching movies. Anything like that can become a problem though when it becomes all someone does.
Well, I guess it's like the T-shirt that stalks me on facebook says, "I'm a gamer not because I don't have a life, but because I choose to have many," or something like that.
No I'm talking about people who do it for days straight while neglecting everything else.
If this were true, wouldn't anyone born since 1992 be a loser then? I know very few people in that age group who don't 'game' constantly.
"I generally assume... (states generalization/stereotype)... Am I correct?"
No, your random notion of what ALL people's lives are like based on one trait is not correct.
Surprise!
This is an outdated stereotype anymore, 25 or thirty years ago, gaming was commonly associated with "losers", but now, its more mainstream than ever. More people game than ever before. Considering, for example, Grand Theft auto 5 has sold over 23 MILLION copies, and both Sony and Microsoft sold in excess of 100 million ps3 and Xbox 360 consoles respectively. Not to mention Nintendo, in a repeat from its success with the NES in the 1980s, managed to grab many more with its Wii system, a large percentage of those were people who would have never even looked at a videogame before then, handily outselling both Sony and Microsoft.
Think about it, that would mean the vast majority of the US, europe and asian populations must be losers then.

I'm not a gamer anymore but did vehemently fight on behalf of and was a member and still am of #gamergate . Gamergate is the last untapped reservoir. I abhor SJWs
