Is it normal for your nails yo always break

My nails are real. I don't do artifical and that crap. My nails are just so darn brittle! It doesn't help that they are soooo long. I mean they can grow back within 2-3 days! Everyone elses nails are so tiny, that is, if the world population consist of nail bitters. I don't bite my nails so I don't know why they do this. The longest it went without tearing, breaking, etc is about a month within the last 5 years. I love my freakishly long nails! I just don't know why they break :( Is it just me? (They don't fall off, they just tear and rip by themselves on the very tip)

Try using topcoats to strengthen them. My older sister has always kept her marvelously-long nails at 1-2 inches, and polished. Hers also grow fast, but she rarely breaks one b/c uses strengthener and is careful with them.

If she has something to do around her house that's risky or may damage her nails, like lifting or moving stuff, I do it for her. Those nails are our shared thing or fetish, and I want to protect them as much as she does.

No, that means you have a nutrient deficient.

They have hair, skin, and nail vitamin supplements you can take(those usually have a lot of vitamin A and C). Taking in more protein and calcium can help too. Theres also nail polishes that can strengthen them.

Those really do work for nails, the vitamin supplements, I swear by it and I'm a man.

I started taking Biotin last year, actually in pursuit of thicker hair. My hair is not much thicker if I'm honest (it is slightly), but the effect on my nails has been pretty amazing.

I used to get almost like splinters that would split off the sides of my nails, which looked horrible and was often uncomfortable. Never happens anymore. I don't grow my nails out since I hate long nails on men, but they feel stronger and smoother to touch too.

Normal for long nails to break off. You can do something about the brittleness via your diet or supplements you could be calcium deficient. However, nothing will stop long nails from breaking eventually: do you want them a yard long or what?
