Is it normal for your boss to be a total a-hole and not hear you correctly?
My manager has this way about him. He CONSTANTLY pretends to hear something else during a conversation and it's driving me absolutely MAD.
I'll say, clear as day "would you want me to put x over in location x?" and he'll say, "yeah, sounds like a plan" and then, he'll come back an hour later and say, "what?! I thought you were putting x in location z! I guess you'll have to fix your mistake now and put it where you told me you would as I liked that idea better. You can't just change plans like that on me. "
He'll then get angry and tell me how I can't change what I tell him because he writes this down. What? I TOLD him exactly what I told him.
Another time I'll call and say I can't make it in because I'm very sick (had 102 fever, vomiting...yeah) and he'll say something like, "well that's annoying because we needed you here today, I'm down a worker but get better soon" and he'll come up to me the very next work day and ask me why I didn't show up to work that day and how I'm not allowed to just not show up without calling. I'm like what??? I told him I was sick and he said okay.. I'll even remind him that I called out that day and he'll tell me he never got my phone call so I must be remembering incorrectly.
He'll scold me, be condescending. We work at a freaking warehouse. He barely does a thing, he's not very bright but she has the "gift of gab" so many take what he says as the bible.
Is this truly normal? because I'm getting sick of it. I can't take another day with his face in my view. He's a new manager btw but not new to managing. He's like 43 years old and claims he's been managing since age 20 (which is unheard of).
