Is it normal for young girls to cry rape and falsely accuse some poor guy?

A young neighbor who dresses in an extremely provocative manner spent the night at some people's house, supposedly with their daughter, then accused an adopted son of raping her during the night. Is it normal for a girl to cry rape after consensual sex? Could a girl actually be raped in circumstances like these, when the parents of the accused child were but a short distance away in the same house? What would you do if you were in the parents's position, or the boy's? This could ruin the boy's life, and possibly harm the girl's reputation too.

No, it's not normal. It happens, rarely, and it's usually quickly found out if it's a false accusation. Believe it or not, the detectives are pretty good at figuring it out.

I'll tell you this, they sure as hell don't coddle the woman, they treat her like SHIT, and constantly basically accuse them of making it up. It's so harsh that women (and men) who REALLY were raped refuse to even go further and press charges because of how they're treated. And the treatment only gets worse once it gets to the court stage. Maybe you have a false sense that the women are babied and treated like innocent victims, and that couldn't be further from the truth. You're accusing someone of a serious felony crime, it's not something that you can just waltz in, make up a story about and bam, the guy is convicted. lol, no fucking way.

On one hand, I'd like to see stiffer penalties for false accusations. Getting somebody locked up for eight years and tarred as a rapist is pretty much ruining their life. Doing that out of spite should be punished.

On the other hand, the majority of rapes go unpunished and that's a shaming statistic in any society.

The problem is that the evidence can say whether or not people had sex, but it's difficult to prove someone said "yes", if even someone did say yes. It's often greyer than that.

To answer your question, unless you were an eye-witness (or involved), you don't know whether the girl was raped or not. You sound very sure it's a false accusation but how the girl dresses shouldn't affect your judgement. I think we need to move away from the "She wore a short skirt, she deserved raping" mentality.

    • For one thing, I don't see how she could have been raped with the parents sleeping one room away. She could have screamed her head off and roused them, don't you think? Hell, if I was coming onto a girl and she even threatened to scream, I would back-off in a big hurry. So it don't make sense to me, irregardless of how the dame dresses. But, yes, I DO have a low opinion of girls and women who dress like sluts - miniskirts, hot-pants, bikinis, low-cut blouses. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it probably IS a duck. That's how I see it.

Isn't that the job of the court, though? For instance, what if she'd been drugged, or someone had their hand over her mouth, or she was being threatened? If that had happened, should the rapist get away with it because she didn't (or perhaps wasn't able to) scream?

It's honestly not up to us to decide what we think happened.
