Is it normal for things you're already familiar with to seem new sometimes?

An example: I've had long hair for a couple of years and just recently cut it off a couple of months ago. Sometimes I'll look in the mirror and be kinda shocked like, "Oh wow, my hair is short.", even though it's been short for several months now.

Another example is, I was recently watching a video on youtube of this band, and I noticed the drummer. When I looked at the drums there was this kind of feeling, like "oh I forgot drums existed... weird". Does that happen to anyone else?

After not paying attention to something for a while, I'll do the same thing..or I'll find it fun or pleasurable again when I had previously lost all appeal for it.

I write down the wrong year on paperwork until mid September. By the time I get it right, it is almost time to change it again!

I think it is? When asked my age, I sometimes have to pause and actually think about it.
