Is it normal for only the ridge of a penis to be sensitive?

My boyfriend can only really get sexual pleasure from interactions with the ridge of his penis, the bottom edge of the glans. He's circumcised so I expected the shaft to be less sensitive, but is it normal for that to be the only part that's sensitive enough for orgasm?

Most circumcisions involve the removal of the frenulum, I believe. Sometimes the scar area at the frenular delta can still be sensitive in cut guys, sometimes not. For both uncut and cut men, usually the "coronal ridge" area you described is the "most" sensitive, but shouldn't really be the only sensitive place. The top part of the shaft of the penis isn't sensitive for any men, cut or not. The only reason it seems like it feels good for uncut guys is that moving the hand up and down the shaft pushes the foreskin over the corornal ridge a bit. When, for instance, a cut guy masturbates, he usually has to let his hand go over the ridge. Often times, a cut guy will occasionally swipe his hand over his meatal opening to allow his hand to be lubricated by pre-ejaculatory fluid. This is unnecessary for most intact men, however.

Cut guys are usually most sensitive to vigorous stimulation of the keratinized glans, especially the coronal ridge, like your bf.

Uncut guys have a more sensitive glans because they're not keratinized, so any area of the glans is quite sexually sensitive, especially to suction. But uncut guys are also very sensitive at the frenular delta, and the inside of the foreskin on some men.

Rarely a man will also be sensitive on the underside of the shaft along the dorsal vein. I happen to be, myself. Usually, the only part of the shaft a man will find pleasurable to touch is the underside of the base where the penis meets the scrotum, just as the perineal area between the anus and scrotum is also sensitive.

The whole thing is sensitive to pleasure, but stimulation in the area you're describing is usually what drives it to orgasm
