Each time I come home with a new piercing my parents get upset, start crying and talk about me behind my back. They make me feel awkward and nervous. I am 21.

Well, that depends. What are they saying about you behind your back? Are they concerned over your health, future employers, mate prospects? Vague post. At the moment this seems very weird to me.
They're overprotective parents. . .Why don't you try explaining your perspective as to why you feel you need piercings? Perhaps you can persuade them.
If they are in an visible place that is not easy to hide, they may feel that it would be harder for you to find work.
