Is it normal for my idiot sister to let a 13 year old watch true blood?

13 is young but she's not a baby. Barbie time is over toots. I don't like the prevalence of electronics either but that the way shit is today. And is it so bad for a kid to have a cell phone if it means you can always get in touch with them when they are out? Or for emergencies or god forbid they got kidnapped you can track them. I don't see a big problem with watching certain types of movies either. Parents should be able to judge what's appropriate for their kids whether you agree or not, its not your call.

Kids nowadays should be allowed to use electronically powered stuff when their 8, theirs no reasons against it, and sims is a 12 anyway, who cares I took a 14year old to watch Texas chainsaw , because he loves horrors and doesn't get scared

Yeah no you are the stupid one. You might be overly conservative but that does not mean everyone has to be an Amish or that its going to affect them in a negative way. I spent most of my teenage years on the computer because I had no friends and I was never allowed outside. I was kind of lonely and doing stuff like watch YouTube videos and chat on YouTube through Pms kept my brain active. She is not stupid you are. 18-21? You might as well say they are not allowed to do anything till they are adults. Hate to break it to you but after 18-21 they are adults.

Nowadays kids of all ages can watch all kinds of porn and violence as long as they can use a computer.

I'm sure to an extent it does warp their brains. But I think everyone learns to cope with it. The problem of course is their raging hormones, it could lead to more teen pregnancies and the spread of STDs cause those young idiots don't know about such things.

Anyways I don't care about other people's kids, I'm going to raise mine the way I think is right-if/when I have them.

Girls like sexy vampires I'm not sure why but we do. but regardless if she hasn't gone through puberty already then she is probably going through it now she is going to have hormones and emotions (sexual emotions) hence True Blood Which probably isn't appropriate for a 13 year old but I don't think its going to hurt her. any 13 year old with an internet connection has seen worse things sometimes unintentionally but usually just because kids that age are curious and they are discovering their sexuality and sexual feelings and porn is so commonplace on the internet. But as for the cellphone its probably a good idea that she has one if she ever finds herself in an uncomfortable situation with a boy (or girl?) it would be a good thing for her to be able to call her mother to pick her up. But yeah shes a teenager now this is going to be the new normal from here on out.

I'm not trying to insult you, but you're compass for whats appropriate and what's not seems all over the place, or at least would to most people I think. Due to the amount of nudity mainly and the bit of nasty violence or imagery, I think True Blood is too much for a thirteen year old, but not using a cellphone until 18-21 seems a bit much. I agree, kids are too engaged in technology these days, but this is not an extreme case, except for True Blood, seriously people screw in it quite a bit.
