Is it normal for my hands to feel sticky after holding a sealed soda can, etc.?

I've always thought that it was normal for your hands to feel a bit (and I mean a tiny bit, like just vaguely annoying) sticky after holding things like soda cans, snack bags, cereal boxes, plastic cups with sugary drinks, and so on.

Whenever I mention it, though, it totally weirds people out. From the way they tell it, their hands are perfectly pristine so long as they don't touch the contents directly. Meanwhile, I always need to wash afterward. So, here I am -- is it normal?

You might be turning into a gecko.
Soon you will be able to walk around on the walls!
    Cool.
Some people have all the luck.

Maybe the can had a leak in it? Or maybe another can nearby had a leak and leaked all over the can? If that's not the case, I think you may be turning into a Gremlin, not a gecko. lol
