Is it normal for my gf to be texting my friend while we watch a movie?

Young in's these days, always obsessed with their phones and playing computer *shakes cane in the air*. OK, but honestly, why can't people put their phone down for a while and enjoy talking to people face to face, makes you want snatch it from their hand and throw it on the ground.
I voted not normal.
I dislike when a person is constantly texting while I'm hanging out with them. It makes me wonder why they invited me out in the first place if they're just going to ignore me.
Wow, I'm surprised at the answers. Since my wife and I don't text, I guess I had no idea of the manners of texting. I'd assumed that if someone wasn't into a movie they were watching with someone else, it would be OK to text and not just get up and go and do something else, leaving the friend alone.
Oh well, live and learn. Somebody please direct me to the rules and regs for texting before I commit the most unforgivable sin of texting, whatever that might be.
It's definitely rude, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions here. Try talking to her about it and finding out more before you make some drastic assumption.
If she's going to be rude and ignore you on movie night the least she can do is text her own damn friends!
