Is it normal for my friends to replace me when they like someone else better?

Nothing dramatic happened at all - they just met this other girl over Christmas break and became obsessed with her... and they never contact me or want to hang out with me anymore.
I DID tell them how I felt about it and they swore we'd hang out last weekend but turns out they spent the whole day with the new girl. Its hurtful but I just feel weird getting upset at them when we never had any conflict or anything. They just replaced me because they liked this new girl better I guess. But I want to move on with my life.

Is this normal or do I have a right to be upset about it and forget about them?

    Some people see friends as accessories. Accessories come in and out of fashion. I would look for people who appreciate you more in my opinion.

    Sadly, yes. My sister recently had this happen to her, but her ex-"BFF" went as far as to tell her, point blank, that they weren't friends at all anymore. I had to buy a lot of ice cream that day.

    I had a friend that was like that, kind of.

    It was like, she was my best friend until somebody else came along. Nobody likes her now anyways, so she just lost her last friend. She's a freak.

    Yeah this happens to me but who's the idiot always waiting for them when they argue with the new one? Me. And I still wonder why.
