Is it normal for my bf to call my cooking prison food?

I dont cook a lot but I can make some stuff whenever I invite my bf over and make dinner he eats it makes mmmm noises and says it reminds him of prison. After finishing he thanks me and says dinner was good. He has never been in prison. Im not a great cook but what I make its not bad people said its good. Last night I texted him to come over to eat in and he replied jail food! I cant wait. I dont get it is this male humor or is he being mean and doesnt like my cooking I dont get it

Visited prison before for a school trip.

We ate at the staff cafeteria and the food was pretty good.
    He probably means that.

Ask him if he would like some 'Prison Sex' to go with the food.

  • I actually don't know if he is being insulting or not. At first it sounds insulting but then he acts happy that you've cooked for him.

Ask him directly if he actually likes your food. Sounds pretty damn douchey of him to say if he doesn't like your food. He could of just said he doesn't like it and offer some criticisms so you can cook things moreso the way he likes it if you are cooking for him.

But yeah, I'd ask him directly. If he dislikes your food and is insulting your food even though you are cooking for him, then he's a fuckin' douche.

Maybe they have good food in prison? Considering what is mandatory for prison lunch is a lot better than what they give in school lunch cafeterias.

From what I hear prison food, such as that which they call "the brick" (a ramen noodle based concoction) can be a mesh up of many different things combined to form a unique flavor and texture that differs from the bland everyday served meals. Perhaps he's saying your ghetto cookin' is creatively delicious!

Don't cook for him, you've not even married. Make HIM cook or better yet, make him take you out. Girl, you gotta learn how to get him to do what you want...I recommend reading "Why Men Love Bitches" taught me a thing or two.
