It's some sort of gay signal that gays send to each other: Cross the right leg over the left leg means meet me at my place at nine. Cross the left leg over the right means let's do it in the alley way next to the Spanish bodega. A gay friend told me this once and I believe him.
Meh, I see no issue with it. The way they sit has no effect on my life whatsoever.
If thats how there comfortable whats the problem? I mean besides your assertion that theres something wrong with being gay.
actually, the ability to cross your legs is something that comes with the length and flexibility of a certain leg muscle (I can't remember what it's called), and therefore it might fee more comfortable for these individuals based on that leg muscle. also, anatomy and physiology aside, it's just what makes them feel comfortable in general. sitting should not be classified as "masculine" or "feminine" or "gay" or "straight" unless the person THEMSEVES says so. for example, if someone sees themselves as masculine and that dictates that they sit this way, then that style of sitting is masculine FOR THEM; the same goes for if someone views themselves as feminine, or both, or neither, or something else entirely. you can't sit "like a man" or "like a woman" unless that's how you define your own personal experience and I mean, it IS a well-known way to sit, so i'd say it's pretty normal, but what ISN'T normal (and shouldn't be ACCEPTED as normal) is arbitrarily applying genders to the way somebody moves around and interacts with their environment.
It bothers me as well. I will see a guy with his legs crossed like a woman would and I always ask myself; "Is he not squeezing his balls?" I can't cross my legs like that even if I tried, it hurts my balls. They get crushed, really! I can't figure it out how some guys can sit like that, my wife also thinks it's gay.
if your back is straight or you're hunched forward then yes it probably would put pressure on the balls. the trick is to lean back when you're sitting, and bringing your butt forward, closer to the edge of the seat or couch, and then crossing your legs should be easy and even comfortable.
If you don't have thick legs, and it doesn't make a difference, why not?
