I used to when I was a child, and less informed on the anatomy of the human body. After you are dead, electrical signals shortly thereafter stop running your nerves, making feeling impossible.
I too wonder sometimes. I usually try to stay away from thoughts like that because maybe I'll never know. It feels like a waste of time thinking of something that seems so endless. Yes, its normal.
Pain works by your nerves reacting to something, then sending electrical impulses to the brain (even through blood) which tells you it hurts. (only your brain tells you it hurts)
When they operate on a live person, they numb our brain with sleeping tablets or gas or other chemicals. The open wound, or place where the pain has originated from, is not numbed.
When you are dead, your brain is dead. Therefore NO pain.
BUT some of your nerves may still be kicking afterwards, again you don't feel pain though, as your brain has stopped functioning.
I find myself thinking about death a lot...not saying that you have to be but I've never been depressed
