Is it normal for his eye?

so here's the thing, my friend was playing basketball and he got elbowed in the eyebrow by accident really hard and now it's swollen, bruised, and he can't open his eyes at all. he's afraid that he won't be able to see again cause at the times when he can open his eyes all he can see is pitch black...

i'm just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this before, please tell me what to do to relieve this, he has a championship game tomorrow and he seriously seriously SERIOUSLY wants to play and they need him to win... i just want the swelling to go down a bit... or a lot. we already did the ice thing, but it didn't work... any other ideas at all?

he's being hysterical right now cause he can't see. i told him that crying won't probably help because it can increase the swelling... so yeah... please tell me any remedies, anything? please?

thanks...

He needs time to recover, he definitely should not play basketball the next day.

I would get a bag of frozen peas on that sucker and take him to the doctor or eye doctor if he doesn't gain his sight back within a few hours. It's possible his eye has been scratched and needs to be patched for a few weeks then sunglasses for an additional week. If it was serious he could need surgery.

Not doing anything and continuing sports is the last thing he should do.

Why hasn't been to the doctor?

He could've bruised his socket or even broken it.
The eye is one of those places that should never be bother....

Insist he goes to the doctor. Also, the chance of him playing anyway is kinda slim. What's more important: the game or his sight?

      well he hates doctors...

i keep telling him to go to the doctor to have it checked but he still wouldn't go... and now there's a small lump near the end of his eyes, under the eyebrow. i don't know what the hell to do with him.

he complains about having trouble with his sight, and yet he refuses to go to the doctor.

his eyes are still bruised, and his eyes still blurs sometimes...

and well the game, cause he played anyway.
      they lost, which was assumed.
