Is it normal for hair to look like this?

I'm a male and I have long hair. Whenever I put my hair up I notice that the hair above my ear near my face is a lot shorter. Is it facial hair? Why is it short and ugly?

normal. not all hair grows the at the same rate and length. Everybodys hair is like this.

I have similar. It's not facial hair, really. It just grows weird like that.

    I typically either attempt to straighten it (this often works) or pin it back with some neutral colored hair clips. If I have somewhere important to go, I spray it back. If yours isn't long enough then you can have it cut or possibly shaved away but it grows back quick.

      It's about an inch and a half long. I don't really know how to straighten hair or use clips. I would cut it but I'm afraid that would look even worse.
