Is it normal for guys with few redeeming qualities to attract multiple women?

My uncle is an alcoholic and looks like a skeleton, but women are always trying to get with him. He's married, has brain damage due to nearly fatal bar-fight he got into many years ago (his motor skills are so impacted by this that he wears sandals because he can no longer tie his shoes), is super naive and childlike due to his brain injuries, and his only way of bringing home money is to walk dogs for people and clean up their houses, but women still seem to like him. Not too long ago, my aunt had to intervene in his work because one of his clients,a much younger, blonde doctor from Eastern Europe, was trying to steal him. I know other guys with seemingly few redeeming qualities that get how women as well, while plenty of decent guys seem to get passed over. IIN?
